The Chair
After a late-night disagreement, Rodney Davis walks out to his truck in the rain, ready to leave. He can’t do it. When he slips back inside for his jacket, the kitchen is empty — except for two chairs. His son Little Rod has pulled his little chair up to Daddy’s big chair. On it: his kid Bible, a crayon drawing that says “Dear God please help Daddy not be sad,” and a sandwich he made.
That’s where Daddy learns where to sit.
